Organic architecture stems from a reverence of the natural environment and an understanding that the wellbeing of the human psyche cannot be nurtured by removing people from the natural world in which they belong. However, the awareness that circumstances will change due to the continuing development of new lifestyles, digital technologies and method of human interaction. Those new developments in turn require the need to push the design envelope further, knowing that a building’s context will evolve; it may be used in different ways and will need to incorporate new technologies that cannot yet be predicted.
